Daily Rate: From £30
This includes insurance, AA breakdown cover, 150-mile daily allowance, and damage protection for lights, mirrors, and tyres. The exact rate depends on the vehicle you choose and how long you’re hiring for.

Deposit: £100 Pre-Authorised
We pre-authorise £100 on your card when you collect the car. This amount isn’t actually taken – it’s just held by your bank. If you return the car on time, within mileage, with the agreed fuel level, and without damage beyond normal wear, we don’t take a penny of it. If there’s legitimate additional cost (excess mileage, late return, damage), we’ll discuss it with you and only charge what’s fair.

Extra Mileage: 10p per mile
Your 150 miles per day covers most needs generously. A trip from Enfield to Cambridge and back is about 80 miles. Enfield to Brighton return is roughly 140 miles. If you do go over, it’s a simple 10p per mile – no penalty rates or hidden multipliers.

Monday-Thursday Discount
Book and collect your car Monday through Thursday and you’ll get 20% off. This applies to the daily rate and helps us balance demand across the week. If your schedule’s flexible, this is an easy way to save.

What’s Not Included
You’ll need to return the car with the same fuel level it had when you collected it – we’ll show you this on collection and note it on your hire agreement. If you’re hiring the Corolla, you’ll want to note whether it’s petrol or hybrid (it’s hybrid, but uses petrol). The Aygo X is straight petrol.

Overhead damage isn’t covered by our standard insurance – that means if you hit a height barrier or low car park ceiling. Our cars are normal car height so this is rarely an issue, but we mention it because we don’t want any surprises.

Collection Points

Enfield (Brimsdown): 1320 Mollison Avenue, Enfield EN3 7NJ – behind McDonald’s, just off the A10. Easy access from North Circular, M25, or through Enfield town centre. This location offers 24-hour drop-off, so you can return your car any time that suits you within your hire period.

Hertford: Kingfisher Nurseries, White Stubbs Lane, Bayford, SG13. Quieter location just outside Hertford, convenient if you’re based in Hertfordshire or coming from the north/east.

Our office hours are Monday-Friday 07:30-17:00, Saturday 07:30-12:00, closed Sundays. Collection during these times at either branch. The Enfield branch has 24-hour drop-off outside office hours – we’ll show you how this works when you collect.

On Collection

We’ll walk you through the car with you, noting any existing marks or damage on your hire agreement so you’re not liable for pre-existing issues. We’ll check the fuel level together and note it down. You’ll sign the agreement, we’ll pre-authorise the deposit, hand over the keys, and you’re away. The whole process typically takes 10-15 minutes.

On Return

Bring the car back to the same location you collected from (unless we’ve agreed otherwise). Make sure it’s got the same fuel level as when you collected it. If you’re dropping off during office hours, we’ll check it over with you and cancel the deposit hold immediately. If you’re using 24-hour drop-off at Enfield, drop the keys in our secure box and we’ll process everything the next working day, cancelling the deposit hold once we’ve confirmed the car’s condition.

Can I drive the car anywhere in the UK?

Yes, our cars can be driven anywhere in mainland Great Britain. You’re covered by insurance and breakdown throughout England, Scotland, and Wales. If you need to take the car to Northern Ireland or Europe, call us first – we’ll need to arrange additional insurance documentation.

All our cars come with AA breakdown cover included. If you have any mechanical issues, call the AA on the number we’ll give you with your hire documents. They’ll come out to you, fix the problem at the roadside if they can, or recover you and the car. We’ll sort out a replacement vehicle if needed. Breakdowns are rare because we service our cars regularly, but if it happens, you’re covered.

Additional drivers can be added to the insurance when you book. There’s typically an extra charge for this and the additional driver will need to be present with their driving licence when you collect the car. Both drivers must meet our age and experience requirements.

Call us as soon as you know you need extra time. If the car’s not booked by someone else, we can extend your hire – usually at the same daily rate or better if it’s now a longer overall period. Don’t just keep the car without calling – that’s technically theft of a hire vehicle and causes all sorts of problems. A quick phone call sorts everything out.

If circumstances change and you don’t need the full hire period, call us. We can’t usually refund days you’ve already paid for, but we’re reasonable people – if you’ve booked a week and your car’s been repaired after three days, talk to us. We’d rather have you as a happy customer who comes back next time.

Drivers typically need to be 25 or over with at least two years’ UK driving experience. If you’re under 25 or a newer driver, call us – we may still be able to help but there might be additional insurance costs or deposit requirements.

We don’t expect it to be spotless, but return it in roughly the condition you collected it. If you’ve covered it in mud on a country trip, a quick run through a car wash is appreciated. If you return it in an unreasonable state (cigarette burns, significant mess, strong odours), we might need to charge for professional cleaning.

These are your responsibility during your hire period. If we receive a penalty notice for something that happened while you had the car, we’re legally required to pass on your details to the authorities, and we’ll charge an admin fee for processing the paperwork. Best to drive carefully and park legally.

Yes, but any toll or crossing charges are your responsibility. For the Dartford Crossing, you’ll need to pay the charge online yourself (it’s not collected at barriers anymore). Same applies for the M6 Toll or any other toll roads.

You get 150 miles per day included. That’s generous for most uses – it’s over 1,000 miles on a week’s hire. Additional miles are charged at 10p each, which is lower than most major rental companies. If you know you’re doing a really high mileage trip (Scotland and back, for example), talk to us when booking and we might be able to arrange a better deal.
